F36 Grounding for Dash Cam Hard wiring
Hello I recently got a 2019 BMW 440i (F36), and I'm now trying to install a blackvue dash cam with a dedicated battery (Cellink neo). The battery requires an ACC wire to the fuse box in the trunk, and a grounding connection. However, I'm having problem finding an unpainted bolt to ground the battery. Looking at the car battery compartment, there does appear to be some bolts used to hold the battery in place. Is that a good place to ground? Do you guys see anything else I can use? Thanks!

Thanks for your help! I'll try it out.
By the way, are you also using a cellink battery? I see that you are tapping #143 (5A, powered window), using a 10A fuse. I only have 20A fuses from my add a fuse kit. Can I use that instead? If not, I think I will have to tap #162 (20A, for 12V accessories) which remains live for ~15mins after switching off my ignition. |

I think I found a factor grounding point on the left side of the trunk (opposite to where the battery is located). Could you guys confirm for me? Thanks!

If you need a grounding point drill a hole in any sheet metal, then drive a self-tapping screw. Just be careful you're not drilling where the bit or screw might hit something underneath the sheet metal.
