2016 340i XDRIVE to... what? (Just drove m340i xdrive)
Currently at 500/mo lease on 60k MSRP 340xi.... drove new m340i, equipped the way I want it it's 64k$ and leases at 690/mo with MSDs.
I didn't find any compelling reasons it was any better than the F30 and for $200 more it is NOT happening, no way i'd pay that for that car. So what is everyone else doing?

I said i'd CONSIDER 10% off plus rebates, I was told that isn't going to happen.

let's try this again, my 340 goes back mid September and I need another NEW daily driver / winter car. I don't think it will be the m340i based on this data.

Realistically it's going to be tough to find a car with the same features and power for $500 pm. The 340 is kind of in it's own category. An Audi s4/s5 or a c43 is going to be more PM, but you will also be getting more car. An IS or GS Lexus you can probably negotiate some discounts for around the same price range but its not going to be the same German feel and will be underpowered compared to the 340. Maybe that doesn't matter though since you have the other cars?

How did you manage to get 500/mo for your 340i? I was looking at a 430i/330i for my wife late 2017, and my quotes were 500 to 600. Did you consider the new 330i M Sport? That might be in your price range. Other than that, you know the usual contenders in this segment; A4/5, C class, Giulia, etc, and then there are the off Broadway contenders from Lexus, Genesis and Infiniti. The Caddy's CT5 will be the newcomer in Sept., but I don't know when the V6 drops. I wouldn't be interested in the 4 cyl because I thought it lacked power in my previous cars, ATS4 and CTS4. If you don't care much about tech, Q50 Sport or Red Sport should be WELL under 500/mo. I bet more like 350, 400 tops. It is a dated model, like the F30, but worse. I have an '18 Sport that's similar to or better than, on paper, my 335i: Q50 is quick in a straight line, but that's about it. Not exciting at all to drive. Looks pretty, though. When my 15 335ix needs to be replaced, I'm actually looking out for a fully loaded and low mileage 2017/2018 340ix 6 speed. Can't think of any other cars with MT that's better than the F30, at least for me. What are you looking for in your next car? Same size, same speed, same tech, comfort, etc? Or do you want something different? |

I'm not looking for anything I guess, I might even consider a gladiator... with the snow and harsh winters I usually have a sedan BMW turbo xdrive something or other... but i'm mid 30s with no kids and no debt so I don't need particularly practical in the first place I guess, we have a crossover with AWD that tows stuff etc.

I have a 340xi with all the upgrades... MPPSK MPBBK, lowering springs, stiff shocks... and the new M340i doesn’t do it for me either. I mean, it’s great, but it’s the same as what I’m driving, just newer.
Only an M for me next. Which one I want depends on which one I’ve seen most recently |

Unless you had an artificially high Residual and subsidized super low MF it can't be that much more a month. My 340 with MPPSK and other bells is under 2K less than M340i I would configure my way and as a bonus I'd get more HP and LSD |

Since m340i's are just landing at dealerships, they're likely less inclined to entertain cap cost reductions, but I would imagine they'd be more receptive in late August.

Which rides better is subjective depending on what exactly you’re looking for in a vehicle, I think we can both agree there. The c43, same thing. Nicer interior with the exception of the retarded iPad screen and more power at 385 HP. Not to mention you get the same exact suspension and brakes from the C63 which again is, “more car”. BMW isn’t giving you an M3 suspension in a 340 but that’s probably why C43s are a bit more expensive MSRP.

Brokers on leasehackr we're offering 18 330i's and 330e's for sub $300-350/month (in some cases low 200's) with low DAS when they were trying to get rid of the old model last month. 4 series had a worse residual than the 3 and lower incentives. Didnt lease as well |
