Nice spot! I too have started looking for more isolated spots. Had someone scratch AND dent the living hell out of my door in seemingly one maneuver the other week and they didn't leave a note. No more parking in "general population" for me.

Been lucky so far no dings but I have a white car so it hides it well. Sometimes when someone parks really close to me and just swings open their door without looking I feel there are some near misses. I've found myself backing up and adjusting my car's position a few times after they've left.

My parking space at work is on a quiet side street by the park across from my building. There's not as much traffic on the one-way street, so I get less dust and dirt on the car. It's in shade for a good part of the day, including the afternoon. And since people who park there tend to stay most of the day, I don't see many cars forcing themselves into a tiny space ahead of or behind my car, thus fewer (or maybe no) bumper nicks. |

The only garage on my campus is about 3/4 of a mile away. The idea of walking to my office from it, and back to the garage on a blazing hot afternoon, is not something I'd consider. Last edited by Wolfus Aurelius; 05-15-2019 at 06:39 AM.. |

Reminds me of a comment from my wife one time. I drove Porsches for many years (5 total) and onne day I, apparently, carried finding the right parking spot to an extreme. As we walked away from the car............she said, I don't want to say that this is pretty far from anything but I was thinking about calling a cab. I am pleased to report this same behavior has continued with my BMW ownership.

Thanks for sharing. It's safe to say your experience is echoed perhaps by everyone when a perfect parking spot presents itself. Great car by the way!
