2019 vs 2020

Are there any significant updates coming in 2020 model? Is it worth the wait?
Looks like sky lounge and third row seating will be added but will loose tartufo leather.

Here is the 2020 Order Guide. Whether or not it is worth it to wait for what is available would depend on what options interest you.

Newb here (so be gentle please)...

I'm planning on purchasing an X5 outright, no financing, no lease.

Currently, I have an offer for 10% off msrp on a custom built 2019 X5. However 2020s start getting built in July/Aug...

Is a 2020 worth waiting for? Or should I just move forward with 10% off a custom built 2019?

Are there options on the 2020s that are worth waiting for? Also, should I expect to achieve an offer of 10% off MSRP on 2020s like the dealer is currently offering on the 2019 custom build? What about depreciation 2019 vs 2020 all things spec'ed the same?

Thanks in advance.

You are getting a good discount but you may want to look into at least financing the minimum (most say 7,500) and then pay it off in three months in order to get the $2,000 APR credit.

You will have to decide on whether the waiting for 2020 is worth it or not. A few posts up I posted a link to the 2020 order guide. There isn't too many new options so my guess is it is not worth waiting.

You will probably be able to get 10% on the 2020s but may have to wait until later in the model year, hard to tell when that will happen.

Thank you for your advice TurtleBoy. What is the summary of differences between 2019 and 2020? Quick bullet points, please.

You're welcome. Don't forget to join the BMW Car Club, if you aren't a member, to get the $1,000 rebate also.

1. Less available interior colors (Tartufo and Cognac are GONE).
2. Option pricing has gone up on a few things (ie Acoustic Glass went from $300 to $600).
3. New Shadowline option (black grill and exhaust tips). Available aftermarket today.
4. No clarity on the 3rd row with air suspension.
5. New Video Recording option added.

Those are the major ones.

Great, I'm not interested in any of those 2020 options and I must have snuck in at $300 price on the acoustic glass option in my 2019 custom build. Thanks for the 2019/2020 option difference summary! I think I'll probably go ahead and pull the trigger.

Cool I am in the same boat...the differences are small and mostly aesthetic in nature. Turning in my XC90 today so would rather not wait that long...
