Camera Malfunction

Im getting no camera when in reverse any tips on how to reset it ?

Hm. I am pretty tuned into X5 camera handling bugs — my number one remaining frustration with the car — but have not seen that variant before.

First step is always iDrive reset: press and hold the volume button for 20+ seconds until the screen goes black, then release.

OP, you might want to think about using a hardwire for your V1. (

I had my dealer's electronics shop do it to make certain there would be no warranty issues.

However, there are more than one threads here about how to DIY, but if you have gesture control you should be getting laser falses from your V1 (also various threads here):
