Update: 2/2020 New Jersey Consumer Affairs is investigating ZNM along with Matt Mallave and Elyse Cruz on getting affected individuals their money back. Their actual Shop has been closed. But their parts department is still around.


Hey guys, the BMW enthusiast community needs to know from who they are purchasing from, and in this case, http://znmperformance.com/. They are run by Matt Malave and Elyse Cruz They are a a well known and documented scamming auto shop based in Pompton Lakes, NJ (Previously). Their actual shop i believe is now shut down or they have new owners. They now focus on to selling performance parts online and are essentially funded from all the people they have scammed and fraudulently taken money from including myself and countless other individuals. This is not an accusation these are the facts, please read below all the threads, especially the S p o o l s t r e e t . com one and then mine.

Everybody who had an issue with ZNM in the past was given the full runaround of lies and excuses to why they never got their refunds, and to why their cars were worked on without permission, or parts stolen from their cars to be used on other cars. These are not accusations, these are the true facts.


These guys DNGAF about the enthusiast community, here are below of other testimonials from other individuals.

Here is my personal experience, its a long read but, it really shows who these guys are. I personally have been scammed and frauded about ~$10k in parts, damages done stemming from 2017 and it is still not over.

Matt Mallave and Elyse Cruz have been exposed to be scammers and fraudulent individuals with proof. All these occurrences are similar in fashion and are well documented in the above links.
They offer you a lifetime warranty, but trust me, please go through all the posts, google ZNM Performance/Auto and see for yourself if you are willing to trust a warranty from these guys. Just read through a few posts to see what kind of people they, if youre put into a tricky situation, ZNM will delay your refund, deny your warranty, give you some bullshit excuses, all the same with their shop when they were opne. Nothing will be different with their parts department as long as ZNM is run by Matt and Elyse Cruz.

Normally i would agree with you about people bitching online...however my "crusade" in my opinion is well justified here as people have had issues with their parts purchases already, See Below.

I would love to talk about my e90 and stuff, but this merchant, ZNM, fucked up my car beyond working, drive able condition. The car has never been the same since i got it back and has been driven less than 1000 miles and been under the lift about 10+ times in a years span to fix issues that keep coming up from ZNM's experiment with my car.

So here i am, telling you why i cant talk about "e90 and stuff" and the reasons why its relevant.

Ive had my e90 for over 10+ years now, and i planned on driving it for 200+ miles. But to have a shop take your car, take parts out, lie to you and have it rot in a grass field, really makes you vigilant at times.

Yeah that was about the shop in the local regional forums.

ZNM Performance was re-branding from their shop to parts around the height of their controversy in the past 2 years. Matt and Elyse tried to make it seem like they were separate entities ZNM Performance, ZNM Performance parts to make it seem like they are not affiliated with each other when in fact they are the same, share the same space, office, computers. I believed this was since Matt was spiraling downwards fast and being exposed as a fraud pretty quickly.

I made this thread in hopes to show people who they are purchasing parts from, their antics, what would happen if you ask for a return, what would happen if you run into an issue with your purchase.
-Unless Matt and Elyse saw god and changed their habits 180 degrees, i guarantee you they will screw somebody over in the future over a trivial order, or give some bullshit excuse to why a customer never got what they ordered or why their warranty was denied etc.

Ive dealt with them for over a year and a half and know first hand they kind of people they are and their end game.

Their mechanics who worked for ZNM even messaged me on Facebook trying to clear their name and apologizing to me, saying how they were doing what they were told by Matt and Elyse.


I guess this is a crusade, but rather you see this now, think twice and order from someone reputable, such as FCP or something. Then deal with the nightmare i went through with them.

Someone from M3post posted his experience from ordering with Matt and Elyse. Same excuses and tactics he used with his closed down shop.
