Condensation in passenger side headlight

Got a 03/2012 335i e92. Just saw some condensation on the passenger side headlight along the lower part of the headlight. Any weak points on the seal to check for?

My bet would be loose rear cover.

Remove front portion of wheel well liner to gain access to the rear of the headlight. The cover can be a bit of a pain to get seated and latched correctly. When I bought my car, one of them hadn’t been reinstalled correctly by the dealer (surprise surprise) after changing the headlight bulb.

There really aren’t any other areas where moisture is likely to get in. If the cover is installed correctly, post back here and perhaps there might be other suggestions.

loose cover is the #1 culprit.

make sure that there's no water in the bottom of the housing or it will kill electronics.
might be worth stuffing a silica bag in there for a while.

Are there any vents on the headlight? I cannot find any from the engine bay

Haven't even touched the headlight in years, don't think the cover would be loose

Some silica bags will clear that up. You can get a big pack for cheap on amazon.

Still worth checking.

No vents that I'm aware of.

I had this problem on my pre-lci 09 e92. I'd imagine the headlights are built similarly in technology. I had to reseal around the lip of the lens, the housing and lens both have lips and I just squeezed in some sealant (can't remember what it was) all the way around. Left the rear vents open (they looked like right angle rubber tubes). I popped the top of my headlight open (there was a cover, unknown if lci has it) and blow dried out the headlight for a long time. Hasn't returned since.

Side note, it fogged up just like yours anytime it rained or I washed it. I ignored it for a bit but it did kill my adapative light module with shorts/corrosion. Fix it quick

I'm in the same boat right now. Passenger side headlight has condensation every time it rains or I wash it. My AHL module is now on the Fritz. Sucks..

now I gotta :

- get a new module
- take the Bumper off
- take the headlight out,
- put it in the oven at 150 degrees,
- seal the lenses.
- put it all back together.
- code the new AHL module.

Ugh 😑

Ugh

For the AHL module I coded out the Option code and adjusted the lights how I wanted with the manual adjustment knobs. If I ever want to get it back I'll have to do what you're saying. It kinda sucked and I didn't appreciate the shitty job the adaptive headlights did, so I don't miss it at all

Had same issue, seemed to be leaking at the cover.

remedied the problem before any electrical issues
