Will assisted driving view be available?

It looks pretty similar to the autopilot on Tesla.

This is a video from g21 (touring). Just wondering will this be available on g20? Can someone who has recent delivery confirm on this?

I have a M340i xDrive manufactured in late May. I have the driving assistance professional. My screen does not look like that, the graphic for it appears off to the side and shows a generic car in front, it does not appear to change to a truck or motorcycle if one is in front of me.

How does the system know the car on the side just using cameras under side mirrors? This looks just like Tesla’s display except that it’s even better in bmw because the cars show up nicely, in Tesla the cars kind of jump around sometime it even looks like it’s in you lane.

I have no idea how it knows, but it's really cool its showing it to you. I was on a 3 lane road in the center lane and there was no one on the left of me so that is an accurate picture. The only thing the Tesla has over the BMW is that the BMW does not display the curvature of the road (yet). So when you are approaching a curve or on a curve the road display is still straight, I am sure they will change this in a future update.

The cameras can detect the images. I'm guessing it uses the onboard CPU in tandem with AI to "read" that it's a vehicle shape and renders it as such.

I wish they have this view for basic driver assistance feature not the Pro option.

Are we sure you need the pro package? If so, it's probably because there is actually additional hardware in the pro package (mostly radar related) required to make this work.

In case of doubt it is worth reading the starter/stick thread docs and it will be clear

I thought this screen only comes on in traffic jam assist mode which requires Pro pkg. maybe it works in radar cruise control too not sure.

It comes on as soon as I hit the 'Mode' button on the steering wheel to activate cruise or assisted driving. If I immediately hit cancel after mode the display shows the view with the cars being actively updated but the system is disabled. If it is disabled but showing the driving mode lane keep assist doesn't work.

I got the chance to use traffic jam assist plus last night and it is pretty incredible, the lane changes to a solid green, the lights on the steering wheel light up solid green and the car does everything for you. Once you go over 40 it starts beeping at you and showing the yellow steering wheel asking you to start controlling again.. See attached picture.

Edit: I think it's important to note that those purple lights at the top of the display are the IR emitters for the attention camera. They are not visible to the naked eye. They show up on the camera because it can see slightly outside the visible spectrum, in real life you see a very very slight red glow if you are looking closely. The car uses these lights and the camera to tell if you are looking forward and enables the traffic jam assist plus to be fully hands off.

Man, that looks really cool. Curious how does it know construction ahead by just reading road signs?

Not on mine.. yet. BMW did say they would eventually release an update that reacts to red lights, hopefully soon?

I'm still on the March load but I do see the construction icon, but only when I have nav engaged. I do have drive assistance pro, but do not need to engage that to see the icon.

I updated mine today to 07/2019.39 But It does not have the Driving Assistance view, I am having the Driving Assistance Professional package. I don't understand why It is only available in certain regions !! Or is it tied to certain Models? Mine is a 320D and I took delivery of the car last month from Munich.

I bet that it requires the parking package with the extra cameras that brings.
