Did you know, 12V...

Hey there!

Did you know, a 12V Socket is hidden under the passenger side glovebox to the left near the center console? If not, you do now!

I was looking at the fuse panel (inside the glovebox, rear plastic door) to see where I can place an add-a-fuse to be used for a Dash Cam, etc..

And in looking where to run the wires, I was blown away that BMW gave me this Easter Egg!

So I am going to use the 12V socket with a low profile dual 2.4A USB with two matching angled usb Male to Female adapters. Of course, I'll nicely do the job so it looks as stock as possible.

Just sharing...

yes and in the cargo area and in the center console too RTFM (although I hadn't looked before in either the car or the manual for the extra one) my 2103 3 series had one there too, I used to charge my phone attached to my vent mount. so far liking the navigation. for charging I use the USB C port so far

I have already used the one in the trunk and currently use the one in the center console for my Roav. And also using USB C ports as well!

Ended up installing a Dashcam and used supplied wiring to 12V socket under glovebox.

Doesn't seem to be there in right-hand-drive X2.

Even though my manual does mention it...

Looked under both the passenger and driver's sides of the dash and nothing on my RHD model. But I'd be happy to be proved wrong by another RHD owner
