I know there has been a map available for ages. But few guys from bmw and ACS got banged up over it.

They've been saying the same thing for two years now though Are they really close to sorting it out?? And will it be their own remap, or someone else's?! Doesn't matter so much for me, as I have an appointment with Evolve already, but others out there have been waiting for DMS for a very long time. I hope they really can produce the goods this time...

Incidentally, do you know if their map is for the MDS80 ECU or the newer MDS81 ECU, or both..?? Encryption was easier to crack on the older ECU than the latest version found on '08 cars.

DMS havn't done anything, all they have done is buy the equipment to do them. Why DMS and Evolve have announced they can do the 335i at the same time, the equipment has been released and both companies have bought it

Dig around on the net and you find all the info you need

Any idea how much the remaps will be yet??? Im definitely interested if i keep my 335i in getting it remapped - although the power gains quoted seem a little low to me.

You may find Evolve underquote their figures - good 'pr' really as you will be really pleased with the result on the day if it exceeds expectations.

I believe the majority of Tuners share the same geneirc maps with just a few exceptions so no real surprise they are announcing releases together.

I'd love to try a 335i remapped

It will be interesting to see how the DMS remap works out in comparison to the Evolve remap. Have to say i was very happy with Evolve and my car was very fast after they had fiddled with it. Competition is always a good thing though.

Call me a synic but the tuning buisiness must be very incestuous as its strange how the 'uncrackable ECU' is always cracked by companies within weeks of each other, unless of course one person holds the technology and releases it by financial preference ?!?

Just a thought and probably completely wrong

Nice new motor BTW

I've spoken to my local dealer about this and they claim it's just a story made up on car forums.

Its because the equpment has just been released. You can buy it for approx £3k, so I'm told by a very reliable source.

Hence why maps are always more expensive when they come out, to help cover costs etc.

But I think that BMW have been particularly cautious with the 335i compared to any other car they have released and as such made the ECU almost untouchable, the encryption codes were some of the most complex ever. One of the main reasons for this may be that with the 335i being one of the first turbo charged cars for quite some while, then they knew that tuners would love to get their hands on them and turn them into almost M3 matching performance cars, obviously in handling, suspension, looks and desirability the M3 wins hands down.

Jules.

Just been DMS'd

Just had my 335i tuned by DMS and the only word to describe it is AWESOME!
I owed an RS4 before the 335i but I seriously don't think it could live with this car now, the torque is unbelievable, ok traction is going to be a problem on anything other than a bone dry road, but your not nailing it everywhere so it's not an issue.
Great work DMS you've come up with the goods yet again!

DMS Remap

Hi guys.
Better late than never with the reply!
Mike quoted figures of +60bhp and I'm sure he said 80ft/lb of torque(certainly feels like it!) might be worth checking that one with him. But to be honest I've had 4 cars remapped by the guys at DMS and the cars always come back A:allot faster and B: A better drive, so I didn't ask to many questions on this occasion, one thing I should have asked is whether they've tinkered with the auto box program as it's now incredibly smooth and seems to be picking the gears allot better than before.
The remap cost £850 plus vat which is allot better money spent than changing cars, especially in this economic climate.
If you want to know anything else just give me a shout.

Hi Marty,

Just wondered how things are going with the DMS remap after a few months? Had any problems etc? Still going strong?

I've got a 135i and am thinking of getting the DMS remap so any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Cheers

Jack
