5 different GTR's tested (C&D)

From the article
Quote:
"Clearly, Nissan is delivering more than the advertised 480 horsepower. And the most likely figure is about 520, which is yet another reason to bow to the best performance value since the Corvette Z06"

Basic review: GTR's tested on the C&D got different numbers ranging in a 1 sec difference on the quarter mile. So they 5 of them. Out of the 5, 3 of them were able to match the best times (11.6) and 2 of them were really slow (12.1 and 12.6).
Nissan says the first four GTR's recieved by C&D were from an earlier software and the 5th one was a production one and with the latest software, it won't varie the results(boost) alot. They claim that this software will be the one which will has been delivered to the customers. And just for addded info, the 5th one matched the best number (11.6)
So point to be noticed, good software can make a whole alot of difference.

Oh sorry .....I thought they dyno'd all...Apparently they dyno'd only 2...Sorry for the misleading topic

Nah bro, they claim to give the best software (the best outcome on 1/4mile) to the customers. The GTR's given before to media had the old software. This old version varied the boost alot.
Anyway, we are not new to this concept of each similar turbo model of any kind vary alot. A present example :335i.......Dyno number suggest that the hp to the wheels vary from 250 to 280.

didn't you read the article?

the numbers varied because the pre-production test models had different software setups

but in the end, the production model was just as powerful as the most powerful pre-production test model (~520HP)
