Shutting off vehicle radio if don’t lock

I am so confused about how to shut off vehicle if don’t lock it. On my 2017, i just had to press the on/off button twice to shut off the engine and radio. This does not work on the G05. I have to lock the vehicle to shut everything off. How can i shut off radio and accessories without locking vehicle?

I open and shut the door but there probably is a more obvious way too.

Yeah this the first car I've owned that is really hard to turn off. It's crazy. I can't believe its a thing.

The trick is to turn off engine before opening the door. However if you get that sequence wrong, you can hold the power button on the radio for 2-3 seconds.

I can't tell you how many time I've walked into my garage to find all the lights on. I've even had neighbors call me ot let me know my car lights have been on forever. I don't know what they are thinking here.

Check your settings, perhaps you don't have it set to shut off when you open the door.

if you push up on the controller knob thing and scroll to the far right, there is an option to shut down the vehicle. The engine must be off for it to appear.

After some earlier hiccups and trial & errors, I follow below steps

1. Car in parking mode
2. Apply hand brakes
3. Press break pedal and then press On/Off switch while break pedal still pressed
4. Open driver door (provided turn off option is set as suggested by TurtleBoy)

This has worked for me 90% of times, it still fails sometime and don't know why.
I have also enable setting where vehicle gets locked when I move away so it shuts down automatically.
