Delivered X3MC Sophisto Grey - Ivory White Merino

Just received my X3MC and am chuffed with it.

Was extremely nervous about it having read the conflicting reviews. Yes the ride is firm but I’d argue no more than you’d expect from a performance vehicle.
Some of the reviews with cushions taped to heads and my favourite the acceleration comparison with the M40i. Obviously utter nonsense and should not discourage any potential purchaser. Put the machine in sport and drive it like it’s intended. It’s not a family people wagon! It goes fast and uses lots of fuel, but makes me smile every time I drive it. The added bonus is the elevated driving position which I just need otherwise I’d have purchased a ‘proper’ coupe or saloon.

Thought I’d share this to allay anyone else who may be wondering if they’d made the right purchase and also post some pics with my configuration as I’ve not seen any online. Maybe for good reason?

Wasn't too sure about this color until you posted pics.

Brave choice on interior color! Looks awesome.

Great combo!!

Completely agree with your thoughts, I've had my car 24 hours and it's absolutely spot on. Engine and transmission are incredible and the acceleration in daily driving mode is effortless.

Agree, those recent reviews are to be completely ignored

I’m glad you agree. I can only think these ‘reviewers’ jumped on the Top Gear bandwagon being their car mag oracle.

Nice one. I loved my F26 in Sophisto. It's incredible how the paint changes in different lighting situations (as does the Toronto, I've discovered).
Ivory looks good, but not the interior colour for me I'm afraid! But glad you like it - when all's said and done, that's all that matters!

Welcome aboard Rob, and many thanks for sharing your images with us! Apologies but two of them were sideways on my PC and mobile device so I placed them together for ease of viewing.

Would agree that Reviews must be taken for what they are - simply one person's take on a vehicle. If a host of similar reviews show up then one needs to be sure to take a test drive for themselves to see if the criticisms ring true. For me, as for you, they didn't!

We had to run some errands today and my wife's G01 X3 M40i needed some gas so I drove it instead. Understand that I have always liked our M40is and still think it is a great SAV. But, I now realize the difficulty in trying to compare a true M vs the M Performance models. Both great for what they are designed to do, but the handling and precision of the F97 is Kobe vs Prime - both amazing, just a different echelon.

Enjoy and thanks again for sharing.

I really love the merino white leather, at the point when my kids are old enough to not spill any stuff in the car I would definitely consider it. However blue jeans also are not a great combo. But it looks very slick especially with these M seats ! Enjoy the ride .

Brave was the first word that came into my mind too when I saw that interior.

Thanks for the review Rob, that’s put my mind at ease on a few points. Congrats on the purchase - car looks awesome! Nice to see some UK owners on this site. I pick mine up tomorrow and the wait is killing me. I love the ivory seats on yours, but I was overruled by the Wife and was forced to choose Adelaide Grey.
