330e Company Car Drivers - Private Mileage
Just wondering how other company car drivers are covering the cost of private mileage?
As it currently stands, I would be responsible for paying for charging the car at home (when i get it), but also repaying my private mileage at the current government rate at 14p/mile. Full electric cars repay only 4p/mile. Whilst my local private mileage would be mostly done in electric, this seems a bit unfair... Any thoughts....? |

I've got an Allstar fuel card and they take private mileage off my salary each month (via a mileage reporting portal/app). Given that most of my private mileage is local and I'm averaging about 80MPG so far I'm quids in :-)

We used to have a fuel card for PHEVs. But now we claim the AFR pence per mile for business miles. Company doesn't care what you use for travel ICE/EV or just ICE. Nothing is provided for battery use or charging from the company.

Same for me too. I claim 18p per mile and my current F30 330 costs me 11-12 pamper mile to run. I expect new one to cost considerably less. So my business mileage claim more than covers my private mileage on the car.

I have a company supplied fuel card and then pay back private mileage at the current HMRC approved rate of 14p.
With electricity so far I have either charged the car at work or at public free to use charging points. As I live on the 5th floor I am unable to charge at home |

Thanks for the responses. It seems there’s a number of different ways people repay private mileage.
We have around 36 cars in our company of which there’s about 5 hybrids currently used (or on order). Whether the company will revise the policy as more users switch to EV or hybrids, only time will tell. I’ll have wait til January when I get my 330e to find out what works best... I’ll be charging at home with the 3pin plug charger initially, as I can’t get grant funding for a home charger due to not having off-street parking, and will then look to try charge somewhere during the day whilst out... |

I claim a standard rate for my miles regardless of the fuel I use. Which means that if I do a journey an all electric I’m most definitely making a profit on it!
