Can't get CarPlay you connect
Got a new iPhone 8 from my previous 6s and can't get CarPlay to connect and work. Worked fine with the 6s. Any ideas?

Check if the two iPhones have the same iOS version. I recall having issues with CarPlay and some iOS update, 2-3 versions ago.

I had this happen after upgrading the iOS to the latest version on my iPhone X, idrive would see and connect but every time I get into car it wouldn't automatically connect. I did some searches online and I found a site that listed a couple of setting to change on the iPhone. Sorry but I don't recall the site of the things I changed, there were a lot. For sure its 1 or 2 setting on the iPhone that is causing the issue and not the car.

Has it been a year since you got your m5? It's possible your CarPlay free subscription has expired. Bmw has gone into the subscription based model with it and you may have to renew your CarPlay to use it again.

My car is an 18. The CarPlay was an option at the time if I recall that was $300 so not the subscription kind on current models. One year old was in July and it worked fine up until the new phone here in October. I'll research. I had the 11 pro before the 8 for a day and returned it. It didn't work with the car either.
