N55 335I e92 Multiple electrical errors like a christmas tree
Hi all,
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AurBumhhM6vDnGeAilq8pjnsOlHx This problem has got my usual BM mechanic scratching their heads. Basically, on 4 occasions over the last 2-3 months, my N55 2011 335i (DCT) has been throwing out a xmas tree of error codes. The first two occasions was just driving along when the car basically threw a "central electrical failure" fault, along with DSC, DBC, FTM, airbag, engine fault error codes. Everything electrical would not work including the gauges, the car went into limp mode. The car returned to normal after a restart, and drove as usual with everything working as it should. The other 2 occasions I believe I had sport mode on, and was boosting it a little, to about 4000rpm, when it threw an engine fault code at first, then the xmas tree of errors as in the picture. Also returned to normal after restart. Got the car scanned, and basically no fault is persistent/reproducible. The only consistent issue is on the last 2 occasions, there was a "overboost" fault, but again not consistently reproducible by boosting the car. my mechanic believes could point to a solenoid on it's way out. My car is pretty much stock @ 92000kms apart from an aftermarket aluminium charge pipe, and a carplay unit (which has been unplugged after the first episode to eliminate it as a cause). Basically, ive been told to keep driving it until we can see a consistent fault. Ideas or similar issues from anyone? Last edited by jondoe1989; 11-21-2019 at 08:55 PM.. Reason: picture |
