Fuel Tank Vent Valve?

So...
Last year, I changed my HPFP from the dealer I bought the car from. Since then, I had small leak code.

Finally took the car to a trustworthy mechanic, and found that the dealer "forgot" to reconnect the fuel tank vent valve underneath the intake manifold. Simply hooking up, no more leak!

BUT, now I get this error...
315A: Fuel tank vent valve: jammed open

Symptom 1: error from the pic stating the fuel tank vent vale is toasted.
Symptom 2: gas pump keep shuts off every liter I put in.

I am leaning toward to replace the fuel tank vent valve first as I do not wanna go back to the mechanic and pay $$$ for confirmed diagnosis. Too late to go back to the dealer(warranty expired).

My next guess would be the charcoal canister as well... what do you guys think?

I had a similar problem except my car didn't throw any codes. The dealer replaced the vent valve and possibly the charcoal canister and now it's all good.
