Car Play now free

I rec’d an email from BMW saying that the subscription for Car Play was now free for everyone that already had it, so no renewal costs. I’m really glad I didn’t take out the lifetime subscription !

Received this email as well. Great for Apple users.

For people like me who are solidly in the Google ecosystem, we'll continue to wait forever for Android Auto. (TBH for now the built-in infotainment is just fine for my needs).

They should refund everyone that paid for it.

Even if you did, they will refund you. I had purchased the 20 year (aka, lifetime) the week before this announcement on December 4th. There are several threads on this topic already.

Indeed. I am under no illusion that I will ever see Android Auto in my car

Still waiting for Car Play to be available for free on my 2017. I plain refuse to pay their $300 highway robbery fee.

Well that was a rollercoaster of emotion for this MY2019 owner.

Seriously, though, glad to see they are going to start offering it.
