E90 lci lights flicker
Hi guys, this is my first post so be gentle. I have a 2009 E90 lci with non xenon headlights, I have recently noticed at idle the headlights flicker, well last night whilst getting out the car I noticed the drivers side footwell light is also doing the same.
The car starts and drives fine it's not battery related as the car turns over at an expected speed. I believe it to be an earthing issue does anyone know of any common ground points? Has anyone had a similar problem? Tia |

You have a ground point on driver and passenger side for each headlight. So I don't think ground is your issue, but it wouldn't hurt to clean up the connections.. Does lights flicker when engines not running??

Thanks for your reply,
I will check later if it's an engine running only fault or not. I was kind of hoping for a common ground as that would explain it but looks like the fault lies elsewhere. I will check and clean those earth points later, do you know if all the vehicles lights are run off one ECU? |

They go to the footwell module plugs x14260 and x14261.

Update
So I have checked the earth points all ok, Light do not flicker if the car isn't running, I measured the battery voltage and it's at 12.12v and 14.34 running so the battery is toast! I have no idea why only the halo and footwell lights are effected and it turns over at usual rate but it is what it is. Appreciate your help 👍🏻 |
