How do I disable Auto Start / Stop on 2020 M340i?
I have been trying everything to turn off the Auto Start / Stop feature of my M340i. My wife has a 2017 X1 which can be easily turned off and the memory keeps it off at all times; even after her car is turned off and on again. When I turn mine off, it stays off until I turn off the car. When I restart the car, the feature is on again. Is there a way to turn it off permanently?
Thanks. |

I just switch to sport or sport plus every time I drive it. Yes annoying but it's automatic now.

ASS Won't Stay Off
Hi,
One of the first things I did on my '14 F30 was to code the ASS Memory so the car wouldn't turn off & on at stop lights. So when I got my '20 M340, that was one of the first things I coded. Of course, it's in the DME_BACK2 module, which means that if you're coding with E-Sys, you have to make sure the engine is off before you actually code; of course, using Bimmercode, you just have to be in the Diagnostic mode (three quick pushes on the engine on button with no pedals touched). Well, I have done it multiple times on my car, using either means of coding and I always get the same result:
Like I said, I have tried coding it many times. I have even VO coded the DME_BACK2 module and then FDL coded TCM_MSA_Memory from NichtAktiv to Aktiv -- all to no avail Appreciate any ideas??

correct. The thing is that I drive to and from work every morning with lots of traffic, so I keep it in comfort, which does not have that automatic function. I put it in Sports mode when there is less traffic and I can step on the gas.

What adapter did you use to connect to your car using the Bimmer code app? I downloaded the app but it is asking what adapter I am using to connect to the vehicle. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

BamaBlitz ,
To use Bimmercode, you have two options to connect to your car: * Buy an OBD connector that connects to your phone via Bluetooth -- app provides link to their recommended list. * Buy an EBD cable (OBD plug on one end & LAN plug on other) & a LAN USB-C adapter-- both available on eBay &;Amazon I've used both & prefer cabled solution as it's considerably faster than Bluetooth & you can use cable if you decide to go to E-Sys for more involved coding BTW, there's a thread on this sub-forum on this very topic Hope that helps!
