Front Plate Tow Hook Mount

On past BMWs, including an X4 M40i, I used the US Millworks quick release mount and I love it.

I tried the same bolt from my M40i on my X4M Comp and the bolt is too short to clear the lower front fascia. I emailed US Millworks about options but have not gotten a reply.

Any ideas?

What are others using?

I'm in IL wheee a front plate is technically required but I only put it on when parking in the city or if I have to park at airport. So I will not drill the front bumper.

Hoping someone might know of another US Millworks bolt that will fit. Maybe from an X5?

Possible solution

Had exactly same problem, did some search a couple days ago and found this. They provide variety of length, haven't bought it yet, but I think the 41mm one should be enough.

I have been using the one from RHO Plate. https://www.rho-plate.com/

I was able to adjust it to eliminate the front sensors from alerting on our two X3M40is.

X3m has different layout for bumper. Won't work.

I think I'll give it a try since I can't get US Millworks to write me back.

I gave up contacting them months ago. They used to be quite responsive. Maybe they're closed up shop, who knows.

Yeah. It's a shame. Great company. Great product. If they closed they should take the site down. This was way before Corona.
