sprts. package wheels
i bought a 330i with premium package last may without sports package and i really really regret in not getting a sports package.
Quite frankly, at the time i was buying i didn't even know what the sport package was and what's in it. My dealer just told me the importance of the premium package. Anyway, I really like the look of the 18inch wheels on the e90 compared to my 17's. If i knew back then, i would've gotten the sports package over the premium package and just order the optional leather seats by itself. Do you guys think the 18inch wheels make a huge physical appearance compared to regular 17inches on the 330i? To me, the 18's seems to make the bmw alot nicer. On my car, the 17's look real skinny to me. I don't if this in my head or not but when parked side by side with an e90 18 inch wheels, the car look so much better. I wanna know if anybody here has a 330i without sports package? any of you regret not getting the sports pkg? it seems like i missed out on the fun. |

I dont have the sports on mine. I did kinda regret it a little when I see pix with the 18s on them. It does give the car a little more of a sporty stance. Now I am okay with the 17s. You could always buy the 18s and put them on there.

I agree the 18's do look nicer. I was forced to get the 17's as that is the only option in Canada with the 330xi. However, I also bought 18's and rationalised this by deciding to run winter tires on the 17's (for my ski trips and many weekends in the interior) and switch to 18's for summer tires.
The 17's are also slightly narrower in the rear which helps with traction in snow. They will also absorb bumps better and thus be better on pot holed winter roads. You might want to keep an eye out for a deal on 18" 162s. There was a fellow I was corresponding with in Vancouver who had some for sale (with tires) for a very good price. I can dig up his contact info. if you are interested. In my mind having two sets of wheels is ideal, at least if you play at higher elevations or go looking for snow... |

Same here. The only regret I have was not getting the sport package. Yes, the 18" wheels look a bit better than 17", but 19" wheels will make the huge difference. I regret the sport pkg not because of the wheels, but the seats and suspensions.

The 18's do look alot nicer compare to the ugly 17's. I opt not to go with the sport package because I am planning in getting 19's and H&R springs. So maybe you can do the same.

It's not in your head, 162's are the best looking OEM wheels for the E90. My opinion of course. At $1600, ZSP is a steal.

About the overall sports package. The seats are nicer to me, the steering wheel is nice, and the suspension tuning is to my liking, however that might not play well in an area that has rough roads due to climate.

The sports package on any BMW makes the car period. This will be my 4 BMW (3rd 3 series) and I've had sport on all of them.

No regrets with getting the SP package. I originally was going to get a 325 but when I saw the 162 style wheels I had to get the 330. Now I could've got the 325 and paid for the 162 wheels separately but I also liked the other extras included with the 330 that werent on the 325.

to me the sports package was priority number one when i ordered my car. for the money it is the best value bmw has, the seats and steering wheel are worth it alone. the car just doesnt look as good with the 17s. in my opinion the premium package just isnt as good a value for the money because you cant even tell the difference between leather and leatherete. see thread above. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15511
so yes i think the 18s make a huge physical differnce. |

Now that I've had my 330I with Sport Package for 2 days, I can honestly say that the 162's are what makes this car look so good.
the handling is great, but I've seen other E90's without the Sport package, and it just seems that the 162's give the car a greater presence. I don't regret getting them at all. |
