Package finally came from FCP, looking to do some preventative maintenance on failure prone hoses.

Thermostat and water pump already done.

Let me know if you have any other hoses you recommend replacing.

OP can you please update your original post with all the parts that you will eventually get for the job? I'd like to do mine as well one day and would like to be able to reference what you have done. Thank you very much.

Oh, you got the rare Manuel transmission. Never mind then.

Not quite cooling system related, but... If you had a manual, you could add oil cooler from 5 series by replacing your oil filter housing. It helps maintain your oil temps better and warm up your car much faster.

I've been looking into this for my brothers 328(I have a 6spd N52 E60 to reference). You need the oil cooler housing from the E60 N52 (or N54/N55 w/ oil cooler), Plus you need the oil cooler itself and the metal line that goes from the engine to some hoses(standard on auto N52 E90s and all E60s. Apparently its a pain to get at the bolts behind the header but ill find out

Installed all the hoses, come to to find out there is a leak from the inlet coolant hose, which I did not account for SMH.

Literally every hose I pulled was literally on its last breath, if you're car has over 100k replace these hoses.

Order last hose, car is stands until then.

Regarding the cooling flange. Did you cut the metal hose clamp off of the OE hose? What did you use to cut it...was thinking some gentle dremel work maybe...

Exactly used a Dremel to cut off the metal clamps since I had new ones at hand.

Just wondering - were any of your hoses showing visible signs of degradation?

@scanspeak

Absolutely, all the hoses were pretty much on their way.

The plastic flange which I upgraded to aluminum from FCP, when pulled from the block was actually in 2 pieces.

And the 2 hoses that connected to the water pump were the worst, with one leaking. (Hoses pictured 3 posts up)

Worth the upgrade for sure.
