Leather conditioner / balm

What do people recommend? I've used some Autoglym balm today and wasn't that impressed!

They are all shit and useless as far as I'm concerned. What's the point of putting a layer of oil/cream on top of leather coated in plastic? I just use some warm water with detergent (yes, usually a leather detergent like autoglym) and then a leather wipe.

Agree modern leathers don’t need feeding in the same way that classic cars did. In recent years 3 cars I’ve owned have had ivory leather. I’ve found Dr leather dye bloc works best and then period cleaning with furniture clinic ultra leather cleaning fluid. Comes up like new. For steering wheels i put a thoroughly damp detailing towel in the microwave heat on full power for a minute or so then gently rub the wheel rim. It’s amazing the amount of dirt that it lifts out and leaves the wheel a nice Matt finish. Caution you might want to wear heavy duty marigolds to avoid scalding your hands.

The leather balms and conditioners tend to lead to shiny leather in my experience

I use Dove Soap. It works on my skin well so I'm sure it's fine for coated leather. The car smells brand new after

Cool I think I'll check out some detailing channels on YouTube and see what they recommend.

I wouldn’t bother with creams & balms. Dr Leather is very, very good.
