Anyone investing? Trying to find a reason not to, ride the storm until oil trades back at 60-80 dollars a barrel. Unless I'm missing something with oil trades?

Its mad isnt it - we are killing the world economy but saving the environment and reducing the benefits of electric cars overnight...

Makes having a V8 almost sensible at current prices.... even if its a f***ing ornament....

But it’s only in US and a bit artificial and limited to May deliveries only, June deliveries trading just above $20. All those investment bankers holding on to futures hoping to make easy money only to be burned a day before futures had to be settled because nobody has holding capacity for May deliveries... downside in trading commodities futures and not being able to accept deliveries...

With reduced mileage on the car (60 miles a week at present), lots of sun, and a home battery to capture/store solar energy this is what our home electricity usage has been like for the last few weeks.

.

We pay 8p per kWh for E7 electricity overnight on occasions when the home battery is empty as night, so even with charging the EV, our electricity bill last week for actual energy usage was a mad 50p!!! Infact our standing charge of 20p per day now looks crazy compared to our actual usage, if we had guaranteed sun and option to 'discount' from the grid for a few days I think we would be fine!!!

Goes to show how much energy we were all just wasting on personal transport. Not flying is also a massive change, I'm not sure why we felt the need to fly anywhere for holidays in the past. We'll definitely change the way we look at the we look at travelling around once this is all over, I think we have all taken how easy it is to get from A to B for granted at the detriment to the environment.

It was tongue firmly in cheek - but with petrol at a pound a litre or 4.50 ish a gallon, it only costs 20ppm for my gas guzzler... and of course China shutting down in part for a couple of months did wonders for the environment...

Sadly the world will be back flying once prices are low enough...

Had just below half a tank yesterday when I had to go out for food....parked up and thought do I really need it right now and thought better of it - Tesco momentum was at 1.10p....now I'll wait two weeks for it to dip below £1.

There is always a delay to our pumps IIRC.

Just ordered 600 litres of heating oil. Don't really need it at the moment but at 22p/litre I would be mad not to. Last time I ordered a tank full I paid 61p/litre!

Not really sure on the 2 week delay bit and its based on Brent prices and they dont have the same storage issues at the moment - so pretty much bottomed out mid march and have recovered a little since.

From price we pay 57.95p is tax, 2p is distrubution, then tax (at 20%).

Wholesale price of oil was 8p.. so the rest is margin/ profit.

Fair enough....from what i've seen before in the news and past, any fall in oil prices takes a little while to hit UK pump prices, but I guess the lower use means it might be a while before that price gets anywhere near our shores...UK petrol companies like to make their money still too...

Yes, confirmed to go live today at 1pm today! Valid at all supermarkets and major garages. Due to social distancing the procedure as follow: drive up to pump, fill in full tank and drive off, wait for the cheque to arrive through the post in 2 weeks time. Please respect petrol station staff and do not approach them...
