Exhaust Layout
Hi,
I'm coming from the E9X M platform. With that car we would replace mufflers and x-pipes. Then after a while companies came out with the test pipes to get rid of the cats - which was a cheap options to not get a catless x-pipe. Still learning about the F90 platform. Can somebody please explain the exhaust layout. From my understanding it goes: Primary downpipes (cats) Secondary downpipes Center pipes (x-pipe w/ resonators) Mufflers If this is accurate, what brands would you recommend for secondary downpipes and mufflers to really get that V8 sound out? I don't want to get rid of resonators and I don't want to get rid of the cats. If I'm totally wrong, please correct me. Thanks everyone! EDIT: I have a Comp Package so would need to be louder than the stock exhaust that comes with Comp. Last edited by OneCleanBMW; 05-03-2020 at 01:12 PM.. |

From what everyone says, any downpipe is fine. The price just reflects the fitment moreso than anything. Keller, ER seem to be what most use. I went with SSEPerformance and I know there are people that use Lusso as well.

But since you want to keep the resonator, then you can do axle back Remus.

Definitely agree with you but I would also add replacing the X-pipe to get rid of the oem piece which is slightly deformed.
