Hello,

I'm looking to complete my transmission oil change.
(F30 ZF8HP Automatic)

What are the best oils to use?

ZF Lifeguard 8 is an obvious choice but isn't as prevalently available, and is also expensive. However, I would choose it if my transmission would receive damage from using another fluid.

I've been reading about Redline fluids, but I haven't been able to find a thread where the best fluid choices and considerations are discussed.

Is there an official list of compatible fluids?

I saw a kit at FCP euro using Liqui-moly

Thanks guys, there is a kit from fcp euro with liqui moly that is half the price of the Lifeguard 8 kit.

Not sure what the hype is about lifeguard 8. As long as the ratings/specs etc are the same, I would think it should be fine.

I would be interested to know if there are any other good fluids...
