Android Auto is an option? I thought it would be standard alongside CarPlay now that it is free.

If this is it then I'm not terribly upset about my order for a 2020.

I was hoping for are Tanzanite Blue and Remote start. 4-Zone HVAC would be nice to have on a 5'er again too. Although I suppose these could be added at some point and with the case of Tanzanite Blue and 4NB, they could be special ordered.

I have a '20 M550 on order showing status "order received", prior to the factory shutting down it was in "scheduled for production" status. I'm now told it will likely enter production towards end of June but the MY2021 is due to start production 7/1. Not sure whether the order gets produced as a '20 or if I'll need to re-order a '21.

You should look at the MY21 order guide Don't assume everything will be the same

I'm waiting to see the order sheet when it becomes available. Surely the pricing and deals will be higher then '20's when it is initially released.

Curious about the Aventurin Red.

A terrible financial decision on my part, but I'm starting to feel the itch to move out of my 530e and into something like an LCI m550 now that I no longer commute and have no need for the carpool lane access.

Lightly used CPO/Demo 550 is your answer, let someone else suffer the depreciation. The LCI doesn't really have any "must-have" upgrades in my opinion.

I concur. Besides any more significant power bump in the LCI, the financial decision to let go of a perfectly good and reliable 530e and in this financial climate gives one sufficient reason for pause.

A CPO 2018-2019 M550i is a good bet if you must scratch the itch for the V8 power and a more reasonable cost of admission.

Think about this, in 2-3 years the 8th generation 5 Series will be out albeit the V8 May get retired in favor of an all electric platform.

When was the last time BMW did an LCI where the upgrades were a "must have" for most? I can't recall any honestly.

For me it was the 2009 LCI E90. Never liked the look of the 2006-2008 cars sans M models. In that generation the E92/E93 were the lookers

Next generation 5-series will not come until Fall 2023 as a 2024 model.

So that's about 3.5 years away.

The next M5 likely comes as a 2025 model.

Perhaps but BMW product cycles are 6 years on average. F10 was sold from 2010-2016 so we could deduct G30 will be 2017-2023?

F10 was produced between 2010-2016.

2010-2016= 7 years. So that's six model years produced over 7 actual years.

I guess you are right if you notate it in model years.

I don't recall if F10 started selling in 2010 as 2011MY in the US.

Frankly I was never a big fan of the PHEV, if not for the carpool lane access. My job will most likely keep me wfh for a significant portion of what's left in the life of my carpool lane sticker.

If I were to move to an LCI m550, it would not be a purchase unless I get 0% financing like I did on the 530e.

Also agree that the e92 was the looker from that generation of 3 series. I still have my 2007 328i. I still look back at it when I walk away. Unfortunately, it accelerates even slower than the 530e lol.

I really hope they will release a 545e with the 90km battery of my X5. I think this engine is neither confirmed nor canceled for EU yet. With a stage 1 that would be sweet 360hp from the combustion engine + 120hp from the electric motor at a price of a base 3 series thanks to government incentives. Additionally, if you can charge for free at work this will be the ultimate cost cutting performance vehicle (although it will probably be quite heavy :/)

Bernina and Aventurin are going to look really good on the 5-series. It looks like Bernina won't even have an upcharge? I've seen it on the 7 and it's a special looking color for sure. Kind of like a lighter version of Dravit Gray.
