Anybody else still get scared of stuff?
We have bifold doors at the back of the house with blinds but because we’re not overlooked we never use them.
I was watching Alien on my iPad a couple of nights back, it got to about half 12 and the mrs said she was going to bed, literally 2 minutes after she’d gone the security light in the garden went off, fucking shit myself big time, I couldn’t grab my stuff and get upstairs quicker. Turned out from the cctv footage I watched in bed that it was just a cat but I wasn’t taking any chances with a Xenomorph |

Are you sure it was a cat, Broncho? Not the rather large spider that was pursuing it? Get that drone up there monitoring the buggers!

I thought they didn`t bother me too much but to be fair i dont work at heights often , but on Saturday we were replacing the high bay lighting at work from the top of the overhead Demag crane. It didn`t look to bad from the ground but feck me standing on a 24" wide gantry around 60 feet in the air it was squeaky bum time , especially when there was only a handrail at one side.
Thank goodness we only do them around ever 10 years so i will be retired next time round. K |

Well I suppose they’ve got nearly four years to get rid of the loony left, assuming Starmer has a spine, and there are any Labour MP’s left of any calibre. It may be an open Tory goal, but Labour still have the ability to sclaff it over the bar...

Well I'm certainly not scared of the things I was as a kid i.e. monsters, ghosts, the dark etc.
Only thing I'm scared of at home is a burglar coming in, but mainly because I don't know at what point I'd be able to stop myself beating him, I'd probably end up in prison! |

I would probably have a go even at my advanced age!!! From experience though there is always someone bigger, stronger and better out there somewhere. The sensible option is to let them get on with it, maybe easier said than done though if you are of that persuasion. |

That scene in 'Signs' (Mel Gibson, house in the middle of America's farm land, aliens descend on earth) when they see something standing on the roof next door..
Holy crap that scene still sticks with me after so many years. Something about the fact the aliens were always watching from close by before they made themselves known. Great atmospheric sound too on that film. I do alot of night riding on mountain bikes, through woods and fields with a head torch.. that can get spooky sometimes.. |

Heights is not a good one for me and flying scares me, but still do it (did it)
I think I have become more risk averse as I get older. Things don't scare me as such, but im more focused on the potential negative outcomes.

I killed a scorpion out the back tonight that probably would have set off your security light. Big, fast, and now very dead. Killed two more that looked like they'd come over the wall from the neighbours. UV LED torch and Raid Max FTW. |

Snakes are no problem so long as you live somewhere without Copperheads and Cottonmouths. They're just nasty. Desert snakes are OK. Get a good sized Gopher Snake or Kingsnake on your property and you'll never have rattlers or rodents.
