That's some nice photoshopping there. I hope it looks something like that. Alpina doesn't need to go all fancy and crazy like the other tuners. Put a set of these alpina wheels on and all set!

Check out the Alpina B5. Sign of good things to come for the E90 B3!!!
A radial compressor delivers the boost pressure that is belt driven by the crankshaft. The radial compressor never stops spinning so there is minimal time lag when power is required. At 2500 rpm the engien has only 200 HP and at these partial loads on the engine the engine works as if it were normally aspirated using the full functionality ofthe Valvetronic engine along with a modest fule-consumption. At 5500 rpm there is 500 HP up to 6000 rpm. Between 4250 rpm and 5250 rpm a torque of 700 Nm is acessable. |

Sweet photos! I love how alpina isn't so much concerned with the exterior (tho it still looks great what they've done with it) as they are with performance. That's a true tuning company IMO, unlike so many of the other poser "tuning" companies out there.

Forgive me for being dumb...but is the Alpina equivalent to the RS series of Audi?
It looks out of this world. I love the E60 almost as much as the E90. |

Alpina is a small scale INDEPENDENT car maker. They build cars based on BMW´s and have close supplier relations with BMW. But they buy parts from BMW and build their own cars. So they´re never BMW´s but allways Alpinas. As their Chairman will thell you: In fact Alpina could build cars tomorrow based on Mercedes parts or Hyundais. But never would. They simply dig BMW´s and therefore use them as basis for their products. So Alpina is neither part of BMW nor a tuner. You cannot buy performance enhancing parts from them either. The only thing they´ll sell you are complete cars, wheel sets and aero packages. But no engine or equipment parts. They´ll go so far, they´ll only sell you spares if you can prove ownership of an Alpina so people will not try to mod their cars into Alpinas. Which wouldn´t work anyway since Alpina´s may look a lot like BMW´s but most times the engines are very different. For example the B3S does not even share it´s engine block or head with any current BMW engine. An Audi RS is an Audi A Dinan BMW is a BMW with tuner parts screwed on aftermarket. An Alpina is born as an Alpina Hope that clears it up Btw. Alpina is also a top-notch wine merchant. Go figure... 2nd Btw. The Photoshop at the beginning of this thread is wothless. That´s a basic E90 picture with a E46 spoiler lip shopped into it. Big deal. |

Heh yea first time I went to Alpina's website I thought I was at the wrong place because of the link to the wine division. What a company to own eh, producing powerful bmw's and making wine. Dream job!

I am sorry to tell all of you, that Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co.KG since the presentation fo the Alpina D3 is a 50% owned company of the BMW Group AG.
Due to this, the D3 is the first Alpina that is not produced in Ost Allgäu, but is produced in the BMW factory in Leipzip. The same procedure will be used for the new B3 twin turbo. the engine and many other parts will be produced at the Alpina factory, from where they will be shipped to Leipzig. Due to this BMW and Alpina will be like AMG from Merc. small differces in the bodywork (only front and rear aero parts), different breaks, wheels and engine. And M-Power will stand as a super sport. The Alpinas will nearlymatch the M modells in performance, but the target is to be the "comfortable" M version. |
