Photoshoot - 1st attempt at HDR E90/E92

Here's my 1st attempt at shooting some HDR pics. I took three pics all taken at 1.5 steps apart but the colors still doesn't pop out. How do you guys get the colors to pop out so much? Any tips would be appreciated.

what program are you using? i'm trying to learn how to do this better too. i use photoshop cs3 but i hear photomatrix gives you more liberty. but w/ cs3 i'd try messing exposure and channel mixer. get to this via: image->adjustments-> exposure/channel mixer. you can also try messing with the toning curve and histogram when you convert the image to 8bit channel/jpg form. you get to this by going to image-> mode-> 8bits channel. then click local adaptation in the box next to method. hope this helps. lmk if you have any better tips

I'm also using photoshop CS3 as well. Basically, I used merge to HDR, then converted it to 16 bit and played with local adaptation and messed with the curves. How many steps apart do you take each pic?

wow i like that 3rd pic, very creative and illusional also, it makes the trees stand out and they seem to apear as if like they were much closer and almost hugging the car, very nice pic, if it was just little bit bigger i might consider it a wallpaper material since i have 2700 pics to choose from lol

usually only -1, 0, +1 sometimes i'll do -2 and plus 2 also but it'd depend on the lighting. i spend more time with the photo editing than taking the photo. but play with image-> adjustments and filter->sharpen.

example:
hdr with no editting
