TS for Carver Subs

Anyone have the T.S. parameters for the carver/Philips subwoofers in the Premium audio system?

If you're REALLY dedicated, you can google the methods that you can use, to test the subwoofer yourself, to find them out.
I'd say contact Phillips or Carver. Good luck finding them on the internet otherwise.
I'd be interested in knowing, as these are fantastic little 6" subs.

I personally think these subs are terrible...even for a stock system. It struggles on low end material with tons of distortion, and the notes are never accurate even after tweaking the DSP settings.

I find it comical that you think 6's are capable of dropping low at all typically, particularily with such small enclosures. The lower the frequency, the more air needs to be moved to create it. A 6" with only so much Xmax is only capable of so much. It kind of comes down to a trade off of output VS. Low end capability. For these set-up low end was sacrificed in the name of more DB's in the low-mid to mid section.

I never said that 6" woofers should be producing frequencies in the 20hz-50hz range effortlessly. I find it comical that you would assume I meant that. Let me be more specific...

I expect these woofers to produce accurate, distortion free sound in the 60hz and above range. Is that unrealistic? Absolutely not. At that frequency range, a 6" woofer that produces as much distortion as these woofers do is unacceptable to me. Perhaps being that I have designed, competed and won sound quality competitions with my previous car, a G35 Coupe, I am more sensitive to the imperfections and deficiencies of this system.

To be honest, you are correct in stating that a 6" woofer with only so much xmax is only capable of so much. That's exactly the problem imo. The woofers don't have the excursion needed to produce the accurate sounds necessary based on the cabin dimensions of our cars.

I would love to change the system in this car, but I can't justify the time and effort to undertake a project like that. In any case, I still feel the woofers are inadequate and maybe one day, i'll give in and change it all...
