2020 m240i Dashboard Lighting

Hello,

I'm used to BMW cars going "orange" in dashboard lighting at night. It's an awesome feature.

I have a pretty new 2020 m240i, and I am noticing that the central panel (A/C, etc.) dims orange at night; but the tach and speed in the front panel remain white.

Is there any way to get it to dim orange at night? I miss this feature of my 2016 228i.

Any pointers appreciated!

The gauges themselves will always be white. When it’s dark enough out, the needles can be orange if you have them set to that. But the numbers stay white.

Is this a post LCI thing? The gauges and numbers in my 2017 are all orange.

Yeah, I also am fairly certain that my 2016 2-series turned the instrument panel orange, not just the needles. And I miss that feature!

Pre-LCI the dials were not lit without lights on - a bit too dark for some.
At night - or with lights on - the dials are orange.

Another vote in favor of us with pre-LCI F22s!

Try leaving your lights on the Auto lights function. My dash goes from white to orange when the Auto light function activates. So when things get dark and the sensor senses low light, it activates the night-time dash.

...but again, like others have said, my car is pre-LCI (2016).

My lights are always on the Auto setting but I still get the white dash. The needles do switch between orange and white.

This would aggravate the devil out of me... sorry this is happening.

You know what else irritates me? The fact that there is no SYNC button for our climate controls. Haha.

I swear, little annoyances that are built-in on purpose to make us upgrade.

Yeah, I've been puzzled by that. My 2016 2-series doesn't have it either. It's just a button.

The world's most profitable car company watches its expenses quite closely – even more so I would imagine on its bottom-of-the-line models.
