Yes do 50 on the windshield. Still very visible but keeps out the heat.

To each there own, but 35% is just way too dark for windshields. I'd say focus on heat reduction properties alone; with sides and rear tinted too, plus a good working AC, you'll already be ahead of the cooling game in the summer, no need to compromise on visibility for that tiny extra percent of heat reduction for the windshield. I currently have Llumar Air Blue 80 on my 01 Tacoma winshield, and also on a '14 Jetta I used to own. Zero impact on visibility, noticeable effect on heat reduction.

Go with ceramic if you can. Also, do research on how different tint types can impact things like the HUD for our cars.

For rears and sides, I've had 35% Suntek CXP on 6 different cars I've owned in the past 8 years. No direct experience with other makes, but I'll be sticking with Suntek (obviously, the quality of the installation makes a huge difference, but I've seen no fading or bubbling, or other issues). Cars are parked outside (San Diego, CA); plenty of sun all year round.

Definitely do the windshield.

I got Stratos on mine. 15 all around and 70 on the windshield.

I was afraid it was going to look too dark but it doesn't I'm happy with it.

I have 80 on my windshield and you can barely tell it's there.
