My car is booked in for some work today and I had an email from my dealer asking if I'd like my car valued as, "We have the New 4 Series Coupe getting launched in October".

Make of that what you will.

I've been talking to my local dealer and he says they should be available in mid September. Whether he means the dealership is getting them then for a coordinated October launch I don't know. Seems most places I read are saying October.

I fancy one , What is the model to buy ? moving up from a 430d F32 msport ?

I looked at the 430i sport pro but realise its a 2 litre 258bhp 4 cylinder ,I only do 4,000 miles a year . not many colours and thought grey with silver wheels , black leather and some comfort pack it ended up at £53k list .I looked on Broadspeed it would appear there is £7k discounts on the order form

Financing

Can I get any manufacturers or dealer support ? and would that be on top off the discount above ,I am keen to score a good deal !

my intention would be to cancel within the 14 day cooling off period and pay in full .

thx

The only model to buy is the one with 6 cylinders - obvs

I've been looking at discounts and Coast2Coast and Broadspeed are offering roughly the same. Circa £7k. This discount figure includes all dealer and manufacturer support so no - there is nothing on top of that.

From talking to my dealer, there is very little support from BMW at the moment, but I take what dealers say with a massive bucket of salt and I'm waiting patiently to see what deals are around in Q4.

I had a quote for PCP over 4 years and it's bloody expensive for an M440i specced to £58k!

I wouldn't mind one on a 24 hour test drive if it is a possibility. Not to see people pull beaver faces at me as I drive it but purely to asses whether it has the edge on the F32. I am guessing it might have as the G20 is a better drive than the F30 or so they say.

Have you seen any direct F30 v G20 comparisons? If so any chance of some links?

Interesting dilemma.. new M440i or for the same price there's a selection of pre-reg 20 plate M4s available.

As much as I'd love an M4 I suspect the M440i would suit me better.

And then the heart would kick in and I'd walk away with the M4 😂

M4 is a different animal though and as I and others have found, can be draining a a daily drive depending I suppose what your commute looks like.

I'm hoping the M440i is a good halfway house but yeah, agree, it's M4 money.

TRL had some M4's over on babybmw that were ridiculously cheap and with the ultimate pack on too!

£660 down and £660 a month

I agree with you, hence the battle between heart and mind.

I have two main routes to and from work. One Is all dual carriageways and motorways with only a couple of miles on good B roads. I take this route when I just want to get to work or when coming home and tired. For this my 440i in comfort is perfect.

The other route is 50/50 great B roads followed by dual carriageway. For this a M4 would be great but I don't want to drive those roads and attack the road all the time. Sometimes I just want to bimble and I don't think a M4 is a bimble sort of car. Plus I generally do 20k miles a year.

Anyway.. I can't afford a M4 and I suspect unless Park Lane can pull a blinder out of the bag when I come to change, then the M440i is beyond what I want to or can afford to pay

I got a finance quote last week on an M440i.

£58.4k
8000 miles
£5k deposit
£21k gfv
4.9% apr

£737 a month!!

That was including a little discount from the dealer.

Coast2Coast are offering 12% discount which, on the above figures still come out at about £660 from memory. EDIT. £664 now I've checked my spreadsheet)

At that price I'm out.

If they start getting to 17% discount like the M340i or lower the apr I might be tempted. That would still be £603 a month with a £5k deposit though.
