M340i floor vibration?
Hello! Not really sure in which category to put this thread, so here goes..
I've had my M340i for about a month now, it's amazing. But recently I've noticed something that just keeps on bothering me. I can feel a slight vibration through the floor/pedals with my feet. I was afraid to not be caused by something out of balance (crankshaft, driveshaft). I do come to this car from a 2008 Passat with a really wafty suspension and I have Michelin 4S's on the M340i so maybe I'm just not used to this kind of car yet and I'm being paranoid Did anyone else have any similar experiences? |

Possible it's just a bent wheel? A low profile P4S is going to make you more susceptible to damage from road hazards than what you likely had on the Passat.

One year ownership here as well, no issues other than needing a quart of oil every few thousand miles and I run the same tires.

No issues with my M340i....
Does the vibration happen all the time, even when stopped? Does it get worse with speed? How about when braking? Could be anything from a bad motor mount, bent wheel, warped rotors, etc...

I have a feeling it might be a bent wheel or damaged tyre as I seem to recall it started happening after I hit a pothole, but I am not sure. Keep me posted if you find a solution. |

oil burner? If you leased it, leave it alone. If you own it, complain and get it fixed. No one wants to own and have to resell an oil burner. B58 (any version) should not burn oil.

I did hit one or two bigger pot holes, I'm going to have it checked this monday, I'll keep you posted.
I went for a test drive yesterday to try to narrow it down. It does seem to get better with better road surfaces (better on the highway than in town). I'll keep everyone posted. |

I have to add as well, for me I have the adaptive suspension, and it is less noticeable in Sport Plus mode (but still there).
And as you said, it is dependant on road surface as well. |

Well I've been to the dealer and took a testdrive with him driving and said he couldn't feel anything out of the ordinary. I insisted and he said he could feel some resonance in the floor but said it is nothing to worry about and if it does get worse, the I can come back anytime. I don't know how they don't feel. It is incredibly annoying.

I thought of doing a road force balance (haven't had the time to do it), you could try to find a garage near you that does them. It needs specialist equipment to do it. |

I drove with my dad his 540i and felt exactly the same resonance when accelerating hard between 2500-3000rpm, so I guess it's normal. I've grown accustomed to it already. Looks like this thread doesn't really have a sad or happy ending lol And no, I only know of one other M340i in the country as of now lmao |

I have a vibration issue at 50 km/h on acceleration, which I have yet to solve too. I know what BM will say: all variables in spec so there's nothing we need to do

I test drove another 340 on the lot recently and it didn't have that same resonance. It was also xdrive and same wheels. Strange.
