What Is Sergei Industries ??????????????

hello forum

i have been reading reading various threads to see if it is possible to be able to enter a 7 digit postcode search on my sat nav. if i have read the threads correctly i think there is a way of doing this through the poi but you need the dvd disc from sergei industries ? pls can someone clarify this as i am a courier by trade and it would really help me out if i am able to enter the 7 digit postcode.

thanks in advance to all those who take the time out to reply to this thread

Not possible at the moment. Without custom making a MASSIVE and cumbersome points of interest section of postcodes.

Has anyone tried postcode entry with the new iDrive ???

7 digit postcode search is not possible. The best you can do is a 4 digit search.

As an alternative, if you have connected drive you can search by 7 digit postcode on google then send the address to your car.

I take it you know something we don't? I have to admit, I would love 7 digit postcode support, even if it is by a hack.

There isn't really any practical way of hacking the current BMW nav discs to give 7-digit postcode search... the database work along is enough to put anyone off attempting this !!

Try bidding on this item on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Road-Map-E...d=p3286.c0.m14

You should then receive an email asking if you want to but a 2008-2 DVD with speed cameras as POI's for around £30.00

Hallo friends all- Sergei here.

Searchings here for Sergei Industries' 2008-2 SatNavPro with SpeedCams.

BMW gives monkeys little for 7 postcode digits- being 'tight as fook', as Carlos might say, they payings no license fee for Navteq to make use of proper digits.
So, you endings up with searchings worse than TomTom.

Friends of Sergei have told of 'naughty boys' makings pocket money by selling SpeedCam discs on ebayings & through other back passages.

Sergei has 'sent the boys 'round' to these little 'fookwahs'- let just be saying I hopeings they need no glovebox torch on dark night soon.

Also, Sergei not forget 'the little promise' Steve & Carlos made before UK5- Sergei cashings-in promise before Christmas, yes!

Byeings for now.

Sergei

interesting, but it's all about speed cams afaics, nothing about 7 digit postcodes. I didn't think it was possible, but the occasional rumour and comment sometimes makes me wonder...?

As Dave has already said, it is actually possible to have a user-created POI database of postcodes set-up on a SatNavPro disc.

This would allow navigation to 'roughly' where you wanted to go, but wouldn't be as accurate as a 'proper' 7-digit postcode navigation system with full street numbering.

I'm sure one member posted about having bought such a disc through Ebay, with all of its 'millions' of postcodes.
His argument was that it worked, despite it not being a 'proper' set-up.

Paul, Vanessa has just phoned, asking if Sergei could suggest a little present for her little 'puppy'.

Sergei suggested her 'bulldog' could do with a new leash to go round his neck.
