My understanding is that premiums go up if you make claims, a bit like car insurance.

Not sure how much it impacts, but for a TV that could be replaced for £250 - £300 I think I’d be avoiding house insurance claims.

Definitely done for. I’d be inclined to agree, I’m not sure it’s worth a claim when you could get a like for like replacement for under £400. I think you’d end up swallowing as much, if not more, cost in terms of any excess plus increased premiums over the next couple of years.

Exactly. Next year's premium increase and the excess will be more than you could buy an equivalent telly for.

I’d probably be going for one of these as a replacement:

If you buy a new one, sell the old one don't take it to the tip. eBay is full of broken ruined sh*t. (Currently over 1,300 broken TVs for sale)!

Definitely get rid of the wife and order a new one. Preferably one that treats your TV better.

you guys didn't have an argument during your dinner party where she decided to throw a very prestigious office award at the TV in retaliation to something you said did you?

She's lucky its an old TV that was eventually going to get replaced, or id be claiming off life insurance. As for premium going up I pay £7.50 a month for the TV.

I've had a Samsung UE50TU8507UXXU for a week and it's the best tv I've seen for a while, aside from spending mega bucks on OLED or QLED. Much better than the Toshiba I bought last year, that was just plain hateful.

i pay £15/month to cover my washing machine dishwasher and fridge freezer and oven grill microwave combo.
Its worth it. The premiums remains the same monthly but with German appliances out of warranty what i have claimed so far outweighs what i have paid so far and d and g have been brilliant.

Taking anything to the tip is an absolute nightmare in my area now. You need to register your car online, book a slot a week in advance if you are lucky enough to get one and you are only allowed 1 visit per week.

I do wonder why I pay so much council tax.......... must be for some 'Arty Scrote', who is probably related to one of the Councillors, to be employed to carve a load of Wooden Chintzy crap to litter up the roads and recreational areas
