Dave Humphreys Review | is this the best BMW M car yet?
One of the greatest and helpful reviews out there imo.

Another positive comment about how the 6MT feels. Good to hear and I'm definitely convinced to drive it for a while before making any changes to shifter or slave cylinder.
I like the honest review of adaptive dampers. Helps in most cases, but there are situations where it doesn't have an ideal solution. Starting to have buyer's remorse about not equipping the CCB. Even though I couldn't tell the difference when driving back to back steel and ccb cars yesterday. I may be drawn to the yellow calipers. |

My comments from another thread : Don't understand why the Merino leather on the CS is not also covering the doors and dashboard. Then it would have been a great upgrade. On the M2C both the Dakota leather and the door / dashboard look bad but they somewhat match. On the M2 CS the fine grain Merino leather clash imo with the gross appearance of the door/dasboard...a little bit like the large mesh carbon fiber roof and other fine mesh carbon fiber bits. |

I think the dash is molded vinyl. But it's odd that there is dash sticking if vinyl. My x5 has the sensatec dash and it looks nicer. I thought maybe they did this to the CS.

Yes and no., if the car is a keeper they will pay for themselves. Main concern is the immediate hit in depreciation since bmw ccb don't hold value on the open market. If I decide not to keep the car after a year or two you can take normal depreciation minus another 5k to 8k. The CS is already too expensive and this pushed it past the point of tolerance for me.
Combine this with the worry that something would happen to them that would result in replacement outside the normal wear cycle. Now take that depreciation figure and add another 8k to it. Or switch to steel for another 3k. The grass is always greener....... We want what we don't have. Equip CCB and I regret the decision based on depreciation. Don't equip CCB and regret what could have been. Once the car is in hand it will be a non issue. It's the paper game right now. |
