Base Audio- How to Remove Subwoofers?? Glued in!

Hi All

I picked up a pair of L7 Subwoofers to replace the base crap Subs.

I removed the seat smoothly, got the grill off etc however the speakers are near impossible to remove!

From what I gather the L7 were screwed into the enclosure, however the Base subs do not have any screws, just a couple of tabs holding it and will not budge!

I can only assume they are glued in, but does anybody have a trick into getting these suckers out?

Thank you so much in advance!

If you have a base system they may not work due to the parallel connection
with the doors.

Thank you!!

I plugged in the L7, and I did get some action from them so they do work!

I forgot to plug the base sub back in, so now my right speaker (door) is also not working! Need to do it again this weekend and rip that sucker out!

Get a slightly oversize screw that is just large enough to screw into the subwoofer mounting hole. Screw it in a few millimetres and then pull hard.

Thanks, so what should I use to pull on the screw? Maybe the backside of a hammer? Or something else?

......and you were right. L7 subs will not work along with the speakers. I did not play with it too much but it looks like yes the Sub will work but the speaker will not work along with it.

I plugged in the original sub again, and both sub and speaker did work. My guess is that I need to code the HU, which I guess I can look into. Could i do it with Bimmercode app?

It won't do you any good to code it .
Coding it to Hi Fi drops the outputs of the stock system,
to 5 volt pre outs.
If you have an aftermarket head unit is does nothing.
You need at least a 4 channel amp and you have to split the parallel
connection between the doors and floors and run each location on
it's own channel.

You need to reread all those posts I put up about the base system
many times over.
