09 e93 base w professional radio Bluetooth
What is an effective way to add BlueTooth to my sons 09 e93 convertible?
Can I tap into the 3.5mm aux? I saw another thread from another year with differe t radio saying this was a solution. What product to buy? Where would the mic go? Does it come with a mic or do you use your phone as the mic? Number 1 priority is hands free phone Would like to keep ability for him to stream music through the aux input |

also gives usb sd card playback , streaming music and phone plus another aux. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bluetooth-A....c100008.m2219 Requires cdc option be enabled through coding of the factory head unit. You can do this yourself with a coding setup or may be able to find a local or remote coding service. (requires you have a PC and cable) This is a cheaper and less confusing installation than a factory retrofit. Also good to have the coding setup for diagnostics and customization of car functions. First I would find out what's installed from the factory. Use a Vin checker. Also BMW stereo types http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352586 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1266451970 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...2&d=1260829447 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138949 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780865 http://bmwcoders.com/forum/3-er-8/bm...1-e92-e93-291/ http://technicpnp.com/menuDiagrams/d...e90_92_93.html http://www.musicarnw.com/page-2/ http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...3&d=1169133185 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1209780605 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...4&d=1278871872 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343673 https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/e...n-752.1275694/ Aux Input is Crap because of it's low fidelity . There are a lot of adpaters for aux but they won't get you steering wheel controls unless you already have usb and they still use the crappy aux input for sound. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1002984 there are review on a lot of this stuff in this last thread. The aux input devices are discussed in the following thread. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...ight=bluetooth Last edited by ctuna; 10-28-2020 at 06:38 PM.. |

Thank you.
Today's kids have gone backward in regards to being an audiophile. They've listened to compressed music through the speakers on an iPhone their entire life. They think these stock systems sound good. All 3 of my kids are this way and it saves a ton of money. That said, he is not craving an enhanced audio experience. I'd like to keep this cheap and easy. Again my number one priority is hands free phone. Maintaining music streaming second. I see now the last link is in your thread has some USB/aux solutions. Thanks so much. Has Someone done this in 2020? Is there a new mousetrap that delivers what I'm looking for? |

As far as I am concerned the Ebay Box is the best solution especially for
a Pro Radio. And that one has been around only a couple of years previously other people where making something like that for 500 plus. Yeah basically Steve Jobs destroyed the Music Industry and Hi Fi. And most of the Music after the 70's was some kind of tribal beat . The aux is in the center console and cheap bluetooth dongles for music just plug into that. Are you sure your son't car doesn't have any factory bluetooth for phone ? Check trunk for a TCU module as described in the link for entertainment system. Trouble with using the aux is it must always be selected in the Radio Menu for anything plugged into it to work. It's just the base professional with 4 woofers and 2 subs under the seat.
When I press the phone button nothing happens. I am assuming that in 09 it may have been an option? Can I add a module and get hands free phone through the stereo system? |

The above is the factory module install. I would look in the trunk to see if you have any kind of module on the right side as per the above thread or the threads I supplied. But that is only for the 4 door and Wagon and non Convertible two Door. E93 has modules in a different place I don't know where. Cars up until 09 in the US have pre wiring which means they have a wire harness and maybe antenna's and a Microphone already installed. All the factory modules require coding and depending on what you put in them it's complex. Last edited by ctuna; 10-30-2020 at 12:43 AM.. |
