What is Extended Shadowline Trim?
The bmwusa.com configurator shows a picture of a different grill Can anyone help out with some pictures that will help clarify it for me?
TBH, I'm not even 100% sure what shadowline headlights are either |

Extended shadow line deletion
This option removes the Extended Shadowline exterior trim elements including the black mirror caps, black rear spoiler, and black exhaust tips.

This no-cost option will make your base model G8x look like the Competition model. Assuming you also upgrade to 19"/20" wheels, the only remaining visual difference should be the lack of the word "Competition" on the badge.
The deletion option mentioned by the poster above does the opposite for the Competition model (makes it look like the base model). Edit: I should add that it's not 100% clear (to me) whether these two options also add/delete the honey-comb inserts in the air duct openings. If they do not, those would also visually separate the base/Competition model. |

Also as was pointed out vigorously to me on another thread.... the competition M3/M4 badge will always be the darker shade vs the std badge |

yeah, Zirenz2006 had it right in reverse. adding extended-shadowline-trim for a base model would:
- replace color-matched side-mirrors with black side-mirrors - replace color-matched rear-spoiler with black rear-spoiler - replace chrome exhaust-tips with black exhaust-tips i would do the black exhaust-tips in a heartbeat, but i kind of like the color-matched side-mirrors and rear-spoiler, what do you guys think? |
