What bluetooth upgrade do you guys recommend for this 328i build?
Hi All,
New member here and new to E90 (although I've had an E46 330ci for about 70,000 miles now 207,000 miles, all the work done myself). Just got a 2011 328i with 105,000 miles on it. I've searched but not found the right thread to fit my situation where the car doesn't have the OEM phone or BT ready kits. I want to hear music and use the phone, ideally with steering wheel controls. What is the best Bluetooth upgrade (from Amazon or FlEabay) for this build: S645 BMW US Radio S663 Radio BMW Professional S676 HiFi Speaker System S693 Preparation BMW Satellite Radio S697 Area-Code 1 For DVD S6FL USB/Audio Interface S6VC Control, Combox My default was the Bovee dongle. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...L98F0PER&psc=1 Any links to DIY threads or videos would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The combox will do bluetooth phone but cannot do streaming music
without a idrive and the appropriate software. It requires programming to enable the phone and maybe a bluetooth antenna and mike depending on your car. Combox will do phone and streaming music but streaming music has to have idrive. If you can enable cdc (compact disk player)this https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1499808 Ottherwise you are looking at and aftermarket Head Unit . This may also require programming to bypass stuff that is in the OEM head unit. Or if you do an entire OEM retrofit to idrive you would have to replace the Dash. As stated the with 6FL you could easily add a usb/aux BT music adapter.
Because you have a combox you could add BT phone too. Wire in the factory cable for the antenna to the combox(could put in oem location) and wire in the mic. I personally have added both to my brothers 2009 that wasn't pre wired. |

I guess I'll look into installing the wire and mic to the Combox, and go ahead with my Bovee install to the USB.
