Radio playing after getting out of car

I thought I saw this mentioned but cannot find thread. Whats the combination required to shut the radio off?
Also I locked the car in garage using BMW Connected and wife could not unlock with her fob. I had to unlock with my fob.
We hate having a car smarter than us!

When pushing the button to turn the car off, make sure your foot is off the brake. If the radio somehow still keeps playing when you open, or if you've got a passenger, and they open their door after you, then press and hold the volume knob for two seconds. That shuts it down.

I had this same problem. Just keep your foot off the brake - that solved it for me about 98% of the time. Occasionally I forget.

A long press on the volume button shuts everything off including the radio.

I don't understand. When I stop my car, I switch off engine, I switch off radio, open the door, touch the handle to lock the car. If I don't switch off the radio (or whatever audio source), it will blare next time I start the vehicle, which I hate.

On all my recent BMWs including this one the volume always starts low no matter how loud the volume was when I last got out. And for me, leaving your foot off the brake does not cause the radio to power off when hitting the stop button.

I still prefer the double press like my f30 and I'm still getting use to it. But if you press the button to shut the engine off. Wait a second or two and then open the door, everything will shut off

Yes, if I am the only occupant then opening the drivers door shut everything down. If I have a passenger, everything shuts down when the passenger opens their door. It's a setting in iDrive.

All I do is open the door and lock the vehicle. Everything turns off. Easy peasy.

My 2018 X3 has been like this since the day I bought it. How can I set it so it starts playing at the last volume it was playing at? Or even better, just specify a default start volume of something more than "completely silent"?

Anyone know? Via coding of some means perhaps?

Good question, my 2004 545, 2008 550, 2011 M3 along with my wife's two X5's all did this. Guess the bimmercode experts will have to chime in.

You can set the max volume at startup in Bimmercode:

- Max volume at startup

I have mine set to 10%, but I don't think it always works. Sometime it seems louder.
