What's the timeline between when your CA submitted your order to when you got a build date, and ballpark potential delivery date?

I originally talked to the dealer in Mid-Dec, and they took my specs and deposit but said they were waiting on a build allocation and to check back in January.

Around Jan 20, they told me BMW had accepted my order but no production number yet. Yesterday, Jan 28, I got the production number.

Build is estimated to start March 10. So hopefully I'll take delivery in late April?

Thanks for this information as I had just posted a message last night looking for specifics like this as you were in the same situation as I am currently with no allocation but still submitted a build to the dealer. I hope it doesn't take a month or so like it looks like for you but it does mean there's hope! Thanks!

Honestly I was pleased, originally the dealer said it would probably be late May because the factory was so backed up due to COVID.

I got my prod number on the 20th.
Placed my order on 1/8.
Production began 1/26.

If youre talking about checking the production number and build status of your car, you need to create a MYBMW account, and enter in the production number in your garage account. From there, you can start tracking your car. Maybe @M3LISSA will respond. The last post in this thread was 5 months before yours.

Yes log onto mybmw and if you have your production number you can track it… from paint to shopping… expect three months though from start of production to delivery. It was the longest three months of my life.
