I just recently ordered my new M3 but without the dealer actually having an allocation yet. I called many dealers and was told the same deal that they didn't have an allocation yet and weren't sure when they would receive one. I finally settled with a dealer I've bought from before that was also giving me the most money off on MSRP. I asked them a hundred times lol when they might have an allocation and the best they could give me was hopefully by mid February they could get one but no guarantee. But by me putting an order in and them giving it a priority 1 costumer sold (which I know I'm sure there's a hundred others out there just like this) that maybe it may give me and them a better chance of getting that coveted manual allocation I want.

Question to you guys is this. Did you all have for sure allocations when you ordered or were some of you that have production numbers now in my same boat where you ordered the car and waited for the dealer to hopefully get an allocation? If so how long did you wait? Any information would be helpful because I'm going nuts waiting lol and just feel so helpless in the situation.

I believe that ALL special order cars are "priority 1 customer sold". I think they simply get loaded and unloaded first during shipping, and get priority in loading onto trucks for ground transport. I have ordered 2 cars and always ordered from a dealer with an allocation.

I didn't order until my dealer had an allocation. Been waiting for a few months and my CA just texted me 2 days ago and said they had one available for me so I'm putting my order in nowish. Just as soon as I pick my wheel and brake colors.

Im on the east coast NY, I specifically asked to make sure they had an allocation for me.

Placed my order on 1/8 and had my production number on 1/20.
