I think BMW should provide a live video feed of our cars being built
Anyone else wish they could follow their build through the factory?
It’s 2021! While there are videos that show generic footage of the factory and how vehicles are assembled, it would be nice to see a live stream of my own car. It doesn't seem like too much of an ask or technological leap. I realize that it would be resource intensive, and it would also take away the excitement of seeing my car for the first time. But it sure would be nice for us neurotic order trackers, LOL. |

My dad is waiting for his new Corvette to be completed. I was suggesting to him that for some amount of money people should be able to get pics of their car along the way. Whatever car company just needs to set up some static positioned cameras that automatically snap pics at various points and could then be emailed to the customer. It doesn't seem (in my laymen's sitting at home knowledge) like it would be super crazy complicated after they got it set up. The car has a bar code or something similar that lets the assembly line know what parts and colors are supposed to happen at each spot so that same code could automatically cause a pic to be taken as it passes through there.
