Timing jumped, engine won't turn after re timing

I'm helping my buddy with his 2008 335i with 180k miles. Recently it had issues with timing. We pulled the valve cover and sure enough the timing was off by a tooth or so. Bear in mind that at this point the engine was able to rotate freely. Reset everything and torqued the new crank bolt down. When I tried to rotate the engine to verify everything the engine wouldn't rotate at all. I triple checked everything and it all looks good. It looks like the crank hub is pushed straight up against the block. Not sure if that's a problem but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue or any input.
Any help is much appreciated!!!
