Individual color cost?

It looks like there are different classes of colors: There are some that show up in the thing caller BMW INDIVIDUAL MANUFAKTUR VISUALIZER and have a paint code. There some that show up in the thing called BMW INDIVIDUAL MANUFAKTUR PAINTWORK COLLECTION GUIDE (a pdf). Those also have a paint code. I understand that they will match a picture or some other color. I would guess that the ones that have no paint code would be the most costly, but are the first 2 types the same price as each other?

$4,500 is the standard charge on the M3/M4 (excluding anything super special)

I'm beginning to think that individual color is the way to go. Yeah $4,500 is a lot up front, but you can likely make most of that back (if not more) should you need to sell the car.

I'm a sucker for blue and I hope you post pics of your car when you get it!
Have you considered any other blues like Voodoo, Mexico, Santorini, etc?

My dealer said he thinks $5500 for my frozen gray order, hopefully not though seeing as it's a standard color choice on the Canada configurator for way cheaper - it all gets made in the same factory and put on a ship at the same port after all?!

Pictures and video, absolutely. And I spent way too much time vacillating over all of the different blues, looking for any and all reviews of each of them. I wanted LSB, but it was denied. Considered voodoo after that, but decided it was a little too much of a piercing blue. Not sure that's the right word for it, but maybe just a little to neon from the pics I'd seen. A few reviews I read suggested that Enzian was like a little darker LSB so I went for it. Mexico was a little too light for me. I considered Santorini as it was in the same ballpark as the others, but the "slight darker LSB" reeled me in for the win. Hoping it works out when I finally see it in person in SC!

Here's a comment I just had on FB from an Enzian owner... "[Enzian is] like a darker LSB, almost a Santorini Blue. I love both LSB and Enzian."

Ha, yes I have also spent too much time on that individualizer site. I would screen shot all of the blues and compare them with real life images of blue BMWs that I could find.
My wife's top blue is Enzian/Gentian, where I am leaning towards VooDoo, and that is mostly because that M5 posted on the front page from a month ago looked so hot, but I don't know.
Agonizing over what color to pick for your new M3 is a nice problem to have for sure though!

There's a good YouTube video on a voodoo m5 of you haven't seen it. I'm not sure it's quite the right color for an m5 though. But yes, same process for me with tons of screenshots, comparisons, videos, etc. My final product pictures that I have posted are spliced together from the individualizer and the BMW website with the wheels and red calipers.

FWIW, $5k was what I was quoted in 2011 when I asked about getting my E90M3 in Imola. So the price hasn't really moved in 10 years! I didn't get it because Melbourne was good enough but man, I wish I'd have gotten Imola.
