HEA or wait?

As the title asks...

What are your thoughts on purchasing a HEA G80 M3 versus taking an allocation for a normal G80 M3?

It has the options I'd want, in a configuration I'd spec.

Is there a downside going with HEA? Past history resale etc? Is there an upside? They won't be demoing these HEA's. My city got 4 of them (2 M3, 2 M4). 3 out of 4 are still available.

Also, does anyone know when the 2022's will land?

Thanks all.

If it was the same specs you would order then go for it. The only way anyone would know would be the production date, but a 2021 m3 is still a 2021 m3 despite it being built 6 months earlier.

The 2022 model year goes into production in July/August.

Only downside is limited options on the HEA (e.g., no buckets, limited choice of leather, and a few others). Non-HEAs will soon arrive at processing centers and will only be a little bit behind HEAs (maybe 2 weeks) and will have much more variety

Will they allow other customers to test drive it before you take delivery?

There is no difference whatsoever between an HEA vehicle and a non-HEA vehicle spec'd with the exact same options.

There can be no past history or resale because the cars are not even available to the public yet.

The upside is that you can have the car on launch day instead of placing an order and waiting a few weeks for it.

The only benefit of waiting is possibility of better pricing and programs. other then that if the car is spec'd the same the its just if you want/need it right now.

I believe that's a dealer thing. There's a local HEA spec with buckets. I've seen at least 3 different interiors. Non-HEA first deliveries are May/June according to local dealers here.

No. The one I ended up getting never even sat. BMW is sending it straight to the dealer and they'll put it in storage until launch day. The other ones that are in the dealers around here aren't allowed to be taken on test drives. Canadian BMW dealerships are a lot different than in the US.

Perhaps it was, our 2 couldn't have buckets. We have 1 M3 Comp and 5 M4 (I think 1 base, 4 comps) that will arrive this month
